When to actually go
Year round. The Youth Festival at the start of August is the largest gathering, and the hills are hardest in the July heat.

Why here
Medjugorje receives more pilgrims than almost anywhere in Europe and has almost no tourist infrastructure in the ordinary sense. People come to climb Apparition Hill and Krizevac, to sit in St James through the evening programme, and to walk. It is a place built entirely around groups, which makes it one of the simplest large group trips there is.
