Window Seat Terms of Use

Effective 16 October 2026

These terms are between you and Modern Mustard Seed ("we") and cover the Window Seat app and windowseat.earth. By using Window Seat you agree to them. If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and where the two differ for the app, Apple's terms govern the relationship with Apple.

The service

Window Seat shows public live cameras run by other people and organisations, and computes forecasts of sky colour, the Fire Index, aurora activity and related information.

Cameras belong to their operators

Every camera is its operator's own public stream, shown through the operator's embed or published image with their credit. We do not own, record or control them. A camera can go offline, change or stop at any time. Your use of a YouTube embedded stream is also subject to YouTube's Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms). Watching cameras is free.

Forecasts are estimates

The Fire Index, sunset and sunrise times, aurora and meteor information and every other forecast are estimates made from public data. Weather does what it likes. Do not rely on Window Seat for safety, navigation, travel or any decision where an error could cause harm.

Window Seat Full

Full is offered as a yearly subscription, a monthly subscription, or a single lifetime purchase, at the prices shown in the app before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; you can manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. The lifetime purchase never renews and stays available for as long as the app is offered. Restore Purchases in the app reinstates Full on a new device using the same Apple ID.

Your account

An account is optional. Keep access to your email address secure, because sign-in codes go there. You can delete your account in the app at any time.

Share cards

Share cards are drawn from computed sky colour, not from camera images. You may post and share them freely.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service: no attempts to break, overload, scrape or reverse engineer it, and no use that breaks the law or the terms of the camera operators or YouTube.

Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features. If a change to these terms is material, we post the new version at windowseat.earth/terms with a new effective date. Continuing to use Window Seat after that means you accept it.

Disclaimer and limit of liability

Window Seat is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim about Window Seat is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
